It's 5:30 in the morning.
I’m alone, miles away from home and many more miles from anywhere that feels like home. I hear faint Chinese chatter and sounds of steam coming from the street vendors outside prepping their dishes for the hungry commuting crowds. And I’m squatting in a stall. It doesn’t take long before I realize there’s no toilet paper. Of course, there’s no toilet paper. This is China.
How and why I ever left sunny San Diego to find myself squatting in a Chinese public bathroom in the dark of morning may remain a mystery. But I feel it fitting to say my life has not gone exactly according to plan.
My passion for photography has opened doors, hearts, and opportunities. I travel the world with a camera in hand, embracing earth's humanity everywhere I go. I'm especially passionate about female empowerment. Farming, running, travel, and photography are my guilty pleasures, and I combine them any chance I get.
My work has been recognized by Missouri Photo Workshops, the University of Southern California, Santa Fe Photo Workshops, San Francisco International Short Film Festival, Photo Alliance Our World Portfolio Review, Open Show San Francisco, International Center for Photography, and others.
I am currently available for family and wedding photoshoots, corporate branding photography, photojournalism assignments, event photography, creative collaborations, and more!
